Certified Good-vibe Team of the century, Silk Sonic, has finally released their long-awaited album titled An Evening With Silk Sonic on November 12th, 2021. The dynamic R&B duo, composed of powerhouse vocalists Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak, bring the funky fire with each track.

Fans were given a taste of Silk Sonic’s golden chemistry with their mega-hit “Leave The Door Open”—which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100—then with disco dance track “Skate” and their last single “Smokin Out The Window.” Each song raised expectations not only for their first album but for the entire music industry as a whole.
A masterful creative project like Silk Sonic doesn’t happen often, so as a fan and music lover I feel grateful that I am experiencing firsthand what I have no doubt will become a legendary moment in R&B history.
You’ll find a mini-review for each track below but trust me, you’re going to want to listen to the whole thing start to finish.

Track List With Mini Review:
1. “Silk Sonic Intro”
A short intro with an 80s disco vibe. Mars and .Paak kick us off with a short a cappella snippet that leads into a psychedelic voice-over introducing Silk Sonic. Makes you feel like you’re at a concert which is nice since most of us haven’t been able to attend one in far too long.
2. “Leave The Door Open”
We’ve all heard this song played hundreds of times so I’ll just say that it deserves its place as a global hit. Each time I hear it I can’t help but sing along and try my best to keep up with Bruno Mars’ high notes.
3. “Fly As Me”
Anderson .Paak’s raspy vocals harmonize to create a heavenly groove. Funky guitar. Brass. Rapping. One of my favorites off the album.
4. “After Last Night” (Ft. Thundercat & Bootsy)
It’s Thundercat and Bootsy, of course it’s going to be stellar. Saucy slow jam that brings out the late-night feelings with lyrics like “after last night I think I’m in love with you.”
5. “Smokin Out The Window”
We slow it down with this track. Sweet drums, silky voices, and a rhythm that will have you swaying your hips and believing you are a much better dancer than you really are. The lyrics are reminiscent of “Gold Digger” by Kanye West but with a smooth twist.
6. “Put On A Smile”
An angsty anthem about missed love and a broken heart. Mars’ vocals shine with each belted note. Things get real magical after the key change in the bridge. It’s almost like Bruno Mars’ notes are pixie dust sprinkled throughout the track making it glitter like…24k Magic.
7. “777”
An energetic track with 80s hip-hop influence, the drums get your head bouncing and keep the beat flowing.
8. “Skate”
This is the kind of song that makes you want to fall in love on a sunny summer day in a big city.
9. “Blast Off”
A light, airy bow to perfectly tie up Silk Sonic’s debut album, the track even ends with a send-off from the now familiar voice-over wishing us “happy trails.”
