New Music Releases to Check Out

I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying some new music releases over the past week. As a result, I thought I’d share some of my favorites with our readers so you can decide if you want to check them out yourself. Keep reading for my Top Three recommendations as we head into what will hopefully be the last half of the winter for those of you in colder regions!

1. “No Time to Leave,” MIKA

This track from the soundtrack for the French film Zodi et Téhu, frères du désert is one of the standouts on the album. It is an uplifting, energetic track that encourages listeners of all ages to stay motivated and move toward their dreams, regardless of what anyone else says. While this was my absolute favorite track from the film, I would recommend checking out the entire soundtrack album, as each instrumental and vocal piece was written by MIKA and exudes his special brand of musicality. I haven’t had the chance to watch the film and hope it is available to me one day.

2. “Melancholy Rain,” Goldkimono

This is my favorite Goldkimono release. It has serious throwback vibes, which are especially powerful considering that this is a song that finds its protagonist yearning to return to a time past. The track is definitely “melancholy,” but it is also reflective and a relaxing track to add to your playlist.

3. “Moving On,” A R I Z O N A

It was refreshing to hear a new release from A R I Z O N A, as it has been some time since the band has released new music (even longer if you don’t count features). The song is an uplifting piece in keeping with “No Time to Leave” above, reminding listeners that they need to keep moving on even when it feels impossible to do so. I also recommend checking out the music video above to understand the full impact of the song.
